Liverpool are reported to be stepping-up their chase for winger Mohamed Salah by negotiating formally with his mother club, FC Basel, this week.

The 21-year-old has caught the eyes of bigger clubs in Europe after showing signs of his potential in the 2013/14 Champions League, scoring 2 goals in the process, notably against Chelsea, as well as creating several goalscoring opportunities for his team.

The Reds, who are currently occupying the fourth spot of the Premier League table - eight points behind leaders Arsenal, are still trying to find the missing piece in this year's campaign as they try to compete for the title.

The Egypt international is said to be valued at £12 million.

Should Liverpool sign another attacker or should they make a move to strengthen their defensive line first?
