Mario Balotelli AC Milan

Premier League leaders Chelsea are suggested to be favourites in landing AC Milan forward Mario Balotelli.

The French international has been bombarded with criticisms in the past few weeks because of strings of poor performances on the pitch.

He has failed to show up in big games, particularly against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League, while accounting only a solitary goal at the spot in his recent four appearances for the Rossoneri, who have suffered 5 defeats in their latest 6 outings.

While Milan boss Clarence Seedorf is keen on holding on to his prized asset at the moment, he appears to be finding it hard to get the best out of the 23-year-old striker.

Meanwhile, Blues manager Jose Mourinho did not rule out on the possibility of acquiring the controversial attacker.

"In football you never know the future," Mourinho told Yahoo.

"Balotelli is with a big club at the moment but you never know the future."

The Portuguese mentor, however, needs to weigh out the cost-benefit implications of signing a player who never failed to give a club's hierarchy headaches wherever he went.
