Chris Brown rants about double standards after woman claims he held her at gunpoint
A 911 call has again put Chris Brown under the spotlight, this time for allegedly pointing a gun at a woman. The 27-year-old singer has posted frustrated video rants on his social media accounts in response, claiming his innocence.
The alleged victim, Baylee Curran, told the Los Angeles Times that she, a friend and a business associate were at the Brown residence on Monday night when the incident occurred. She said she admiring the rapper's diamond necklace when he suddenly got angry and told her to step sway. Curran claimed that this was when Brown pointed a gun at her face and demanded that she get away.
Police responded to the call and waited outside the Tarzana neighborhood home after a search warrant was released. The standoff lasted until Tuesday afternoon, as Brown waited for his lawyer to arrive.
Meanwhile, Brown went on his Instagram account to rant about the situation. “So I don’t sleep half the damn night I just wake up to all these m-----f------ helicopters, choppers is around, police out there at the gate,” he began. He then went on to state that he had done nothing wrong and that he has been quietly working and providing for his daughter, who is now 2 years old. “I’m innocent,” he claimed.
Brown also pointed out the double standard against him. He went on about how the police take a day to come to his aid, usually regarding the stalkers that lurke outside his home. However, when someone makes a “f----- up allegation [against him]... [they send] the whole f------ SWAT team.”
Though Brown’s most infamous run in with authorities was in 2009 after he admitted to hitting his then-girlfriend Rihanna, he has not exactly stayed out of their eyesight. According to ABC7, the police have been called at least five other times this year. However, these were for relatively smaller public disturbance claims -- particularly when Brown and a friend rode ATV units up and down his street.
