Colin Firth has found himself a wife in the form of fellow Academy Award-winning actress Nicole Kidman. Both Oscar winners will share the screen for the move "Railway Man."

Nicole will take over the role from Rachel Weisz. She will star as the remarkable wife of Firth, who will help him overcome nightmares brought about by his World War II experiences.

Oscar winning Firth together with the movie producer Andy Paterson persuaded Kidman to take the role. The movie is based on a true story of Eric Lomax. He was a second lieutenant assigned in the Royal Corps of Signal who was captured by the Japanese forces.

As a prisoner of the war, he experienced torture and was forced to work at the Burma-Siam Railway which is also known as the Death Railway. Lomax has a wife named Patricia Wallace, who will be portrayed by Kidman.

Weisz was already set for the role but had to cancel since she was already working with two movies, "The Bourne Legacy" and "Oz: The Great and Powerful."

Filming will take place in Kanchanaburi, Thailand, the place where the infamous bridge and railway is located. A young Lomax, who was brutally tortured during his time there, will be played by Jeremy Irvine.

Producer Paterson has been attempting to make the film for several years as well as Firth who has been involved the whole time. The actor was active into including Irvine and Kidman for the project during his few days in Los Angeles for the Oscars.

The movie will be directed by Jonathan Teplitzky and will be filmed in locations such as Scotland, Australia and Thailand.
