The second line-up of artists to perform for the yearly Falls Festival has been announced. It will include local and international artists with the first round having The Flaming Lips along with other artists like Beach House, SBTRKT, and Best Coast.

There will the Hot Chip who is first in line with the second batch who is a dancetronica group. They will be joined in by other regulars of the music festival such as the Maximo Park, Bombay Bicycle Club from Britain and the Hilltop Hoods.

For the indie folk genre, there will be the Swedish sisters of the band First Aid Kit along with the quartet from Brisbane, Millions and Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs.

The Falls Festival is on its 20th year for the Lorne site and running on its 10th year for the Marion Bay in Tasmania. Hence, all fans and followers of the festival can expect one huge party for this year.

The Falls Music & Arts Festival

This is a music festival held every New Year's eve and has been more popular with its abbreviated name of Falls. It features not just modern music of today but also other artistic acts such as circus, cabaret, theatre, comedy and dance.

The lineups run smoothly and simultaneously in various venues over the span of different days with the main acts playing the most number of music on two days of the 30th and 31st of December.

It all started way back in 1993 with just a tiny concert in Lorne, Victoria which already gained 11,000 people in the audience. This exceeded the expectations of its organisers and urged them to get bigger farm spaces to hold as venue for the accommodation of such a big group of people.

It features a wide array of musical genres and not just limited to its traditional blues & roots.
