Heartthrob actor Ian Somerhalder's relationship with girlfriend Nina Dobrev is currently rumored to be headed towards the break-up direction. The "Vampire Diaries" star even revealed that he found new love in Grumpy Cat but could this be his way of mocking the split rumors with Nina Dobrev?

It appears that the 34-year-old actor is just taking the current situation lightly after posting his picture with Grumpy Cat on the social networking sites. Ian Somerhalder kept talking about the 11-month-old mixed breed cat after meeting her at the Mashable House during the 2013 SXSW.

"I just had a photo taken of me with Grumpy Cat," the actor stated. "That's my new love and she is a sweetie pie with beautiful eyes, I might add," Somerhalder revealed to E!News. "She's sweet as pumpkin pie. Grumpy Cat, I miss you. Come back home to daddy," the actor further declared.

Meanwhile, other reports suggest that the couple's relationship could be further put in jeopardy with the "Fifty Shades of Grey" casting news where Ian Somerhalder is a fan favorite in portraying billionaire Christian Grey.

If Ian gets cast for the Christian Grey role, he will definitely catapult more into Hollywood stardom and his personal relationship with Nina will be pushed into the limelight. Fans, media and photographers will closely follow and scrutinize on the couple's every move.
