‘Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’ season 3 news: Release date, spoilers; first six episode titles out
In what can be called as an early renewal, “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” season 3 has been announced recently after a successful conclusion of the series’ second season on Feb. 3. It has also been said the show’s host, the CW network has renewed another show alongside “Jane the Virgin,” which will be back for a fourth season.
Showrunner Aline Brosh McKenna recently talked about the show’s upcoming season in an interview with TV Line. The 49-year-old screenwriter revealed that season 3 will shed some light on Rebecca’s past leading to the root cause of her mental health issues.
"One thing I know we are going to explore next year is: What has her past mental-health history been?” McKenna said to TV Line. “I think she's had bad experiences with being diagnosed and given medication that makes her feel bad. So we're going to learn a lot more about her past struggles with her mental health, and to rein in these issues that she has.”
Further reports state that the new season will be mostly about secrets being unveiled. It was previously seen that Rebecca and Nathaniel kissed while Paula is still clueless about the same. So when Paula comes to know about it, relationships are sure to go downhill. She is a woman who doesn't like being lied to.
In the previous season, fans also saw Josh (Vincent Rodriguez III) leaving Rebecca at the altar. It is finally evident that the 28-year-old will have to survive through the heartbreak and move on with her life as Josh is now unlikely to come back. The second season finale saw the two on the verge of tying the knot but Josh bailed out and decided to take up priesthood. The move has been described by McKenna as an impending decision since mid-season.
Despite the fact that “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” had dwindling viewership ratings by season 2's end, the CW has allegedly given the show another season based on critical acclaims it has received since it first aired in October 2015. The show is about Rebecca Bunch (Rachel Bloom), a Yale and Harvard-educated lawyer working in a top New York firm, who moves to West Covina only to win her first love back.
"Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" season 3 does not have a premiere date yet. The show’s second season is currently being aired on Ten Play in Australia. Meanwhile, co-creator and star Rachel Bloom recently shared the first six episode titles on her Instagram account.
