Cristiano Ronaldo Makes History, Becomes Real Madrid's Best Goalscorer
Former Manchester United Cristiano Ronaldo made history with his new club, Real Madrid as he became the best goalscorer in La Liga. Following their 3-0 victory over Getafe, the Portugal national team captain wrote another record into the club's history book.
Just recently, Ronaldo broke a 79-year-old record for most goals in La Liga, which was followed by another record for the most strikes in a single season. Apparently, the 29-year-old wants to set the bar higher as he became the first player to complete a personal Grand Slam of awards after his World Club Cup win with Real Madrid after previously achieving the same with the Red Devils.
Once again, Ronaldo made another record as Madrid's greatest goalscorer in La Liga with 89 goals. The 29-year-old surpassed the previous record of Raul Rodriguez with 87 goals. Furthermore, Ronaldo's brace against Getafe took his goal tally for the season to 28 goals, which is the same number as Lionel Messi scored in the first half of the season when he ended the campaign on 50 goals. Although the Ballon d'Or awardee does not have much left records to break, one record that he is challenged to smash is the incredible 50 La Liga strikes of Lionel Messi.
Meanwhile, Ronaldo has been rumoured to split with his girlfriend of five years, Irina Shayk. According to a representative, the Russian model, who did not attend the Ballon d'Or presentation of Ronaldo, has ended her relationship with the footballer. In a report from the Mirror, the Russian beauty decided not to attend the 60th birthday party of Dolores Aviero, which caused the break-up of the couple.
Following the break-up, the footballer has been rumoured to date the Spanish reporter Lucia Villalon after they celebrated Ronaldo's Ballon d'Or win on their way back from Zurich. The law and journalism graduate took to Twitter and posted a photo of them on the plane to Madrid.
