Daniel Craig Puts on Weight to Play Swedish Heavyweight Role
James Bond actor Daniel Craig is trying to gain weight for a future role as a Swedish heavyweight boxer.
Before Craig returns to working as James Bond, he is now seen in the much-anticipated dark thriller 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' which will be released Dec. 26.
It has been definitely a good year for the 43-year-old actor, having married his new love of his life the actress Rachel Weisz. He admitted that he read the book 'The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo' in two days and from then on was smitten with the character Mikael Blomkvist he played in the movie adaptation.
Since he is already shooting scenes for the new Bond film, one can only expect that he is back in perfect shape. Not many knew that he deliberately gained weight for his role in 'the Girl with Dragon Tattoo' so as to make his journalist character more realistic. He certainly bulked up for the role since the journalist he portrays is one who stays on his desk most of the time.
To skip time in the gym was not at all difficult for the actor for he said that he just acted normal and relaxed his body a bit for less exercise that he used to have to maintain the Bond look.
But of course, this weight gain is nothing compared to the physical transformation that the lead star Rooney Mara did for herself. The film will soon hit the big screen come Dec. 26.
