Daniel Radcliffe Raps To Eminem, Appears In ‘Trainwreck’ With ‘Empire’ Season 2 Star Marissa Tomei
A YouTube video of “Harry Potter” alum Daniel Radcliffe, 25, rapping Eminem’s hit song “The Real Slim Shady” has surfaced. The video was taken while he was enjoying karaoke night at Cameron’s Pub in Half Moon Bay, Calif., with his girlfriend "Public Morals" star Erin Darke, 29.
In the video, which runs 4 minutes and 40 seconds, Darke joins Radcliffe on stage as they performed “The Real Slim Shady” for the crowd. The two made their debut as a couple on the red carpet at the 69th Annual Tony Awards, which was held at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on June 8, 2014.
Currently filming “Public Morals,” Darke previously appeared in several TV series including “Pan Am,” “Girls,” “Black Box,” “Forever” and “Battle Creek.” She met Radcliffe on the set of the 2013 film “Kill Your Darlings.”
It was not known when the video titled “Daniel Radcliffe singing Real Slim Shady” was taken but it was published on YouTube on July 18. This was one day after the premiere of “Trainwreck,” in which Radcliffe has a cameo appearance.
Directed by Judd Apatow and written by Amy Schumer, “Trainwreck” has a film-within-a-film, which is where Radcliffe was featured. The comedy film has a theatre scene that shows a fake movie titled “The Dogwalker” starring the “Harry Potter” alum opposite “Empire” season 2 star Marisa Tomei.
In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Apatow explained how Radcliffe ended up having a cameo appearance in “Trainwreck.” He said since there is a scene in a movie theater, they thought about having to put something on the screen and maybe shooting something weird.
According to Apatow, it was Schumer who came with “this idea for ‘The Dogwalker,’ a bad Sundance film starring Daniel Radcliffe and Marisa Tomei.” The “Trainwreck” director Radcliffe and Tomei “came in one morning and just improvised all morning,” from which they got some silly clips put up on the screen.
Joining Schumer in the “Trainwreck” cast are “Inside Amy Schumer” star Bill Hader, “Fresh Off the Boat” star Randall Park, “Brooklyn Bridge” star Brie Larson and “Hail, Caesar!” star Tilda Swinton, among others. WWE superstar John Cena and NBA star LeBron James are also in the cast. Watch the YouTube video titled “Daniel Radcliffe singing Real Slim Shady” here:
