'Deadpool 2' begins filming in Vancouver with action scene; Leaked scene details
Filming of “Deadpool 2” has officially begun in Vancouver. Lead actor Ryan Reynolds confirmed the news with a picture of the clapper. Details of some of the scenes filmed on day 1 have leaked online.
The picture Reynolds shared online (see below) was taken at the end of the day. Director David Leitch is joined by cinematographer Jonathan Sela to tell the story of the next chapter in the superhero’s life. The movie is being filmed with working titles Caribbean Blue, Daisy and Love Machine.
According to a report by YVR Shoots, filming included Wade having fun at a kid’s party. Wade was reportedly photographed bouncing on a trampoline. There are no details about how this scene connects to the storyline in the film.
Another shot that was filmed on the first day was Wade wielding a gun on a roof top of a building in West Pender Street. The superhero is said to be wearing his mask and a Crazy Horse T-shirt in this scene. It is not clear which other actors/characters were involved in this action sequence.
More scenes are expected to be filmed in the next few days. The cast and crew are reportedly working on a car flipping stunt, which will require some repave of the roads at Cambie Street.
Reynolds previously shared a picture of his character at the Victoria’s Hatley Castle, which is standing in for X-Men mansion. The upcoming film will introduce new characters, while familiar ones like Colossus (Stefan Kapicic) and the taxi driver Dopinder (Karan Soni) will return.
The biggest new character being introduced in “Deadpool 2” is Cable (Josh Brolin). Brolin has been working hard at the gym to prepare for the role. The actor previously shared a picture of him getting ready in the makeup chair.
