The countdown for the next “Destiny” update is still ticking, and alongside this, developer Bungie is also counting down which features are coming with it. The latest feature that was listed to have some improvements is the vault space.

According to the latest Bungie blog update, the dimensions of the vault will be changed. Currently, it can store 20 armour pieces, 20 weapons and 20 general items. But the update 1.1.2 will push up the number to 24 armour pieces, 36 weapons and 24 general items.

Surprisingly, however, Vault Space is still not a problem for the majority of players. Bungie’s User Research Lead John Hopson revealed that most players still have some spare storage space with the current vault dimensions. But considering that “Destiny” players continue their quests and the “House of Wolves” is about to debut, more players are reaching the limit at this point.

As such, expanded vault space still remains to be one of the bigger requests from the community. This is the reason why Bungie has aimed to increase storage within the proper limit befitting memory constraints.

“As we get closer to the House of Wolves content update, we knew we had to expand the Vault or the community would not have enough space to store the new Exotics we’re making!” said M.E. Chung, live team lead for Bungie, said in the official blog update.

While waiting for the Update 1.1.2, and especially the House of Wolves update, there are a few new fan-created projects that aim to help Guardians in their quest. Developer Bungie puts one such community creation, PlanetDestiny, in the spotlight this week. PlanetDestiny aims to help the “Destiny” community by providing one venue that features reviews and guides on anything and everything related to the game. These content comes in the form of videos or in-depth analysis articles.

According to PlanetDestiny editor Ryan, one of the site’s specialisations is the fact that the team has reviewed every Exotic and more than 22 Legendary weapons in the game so far. This is one top of the in-depth original articles that tackle solutions the RNG system and other discussion that could benefit the community. Some of the useful information include ranking weapons, discussions on whether an item from Xur is worth spending some Strange Coins on and analysis on the latest patches to arrive in the game.

More than a source for information on “Destiny,” PlanetDestiny also provides a platform for players who just want to talk to fellow gamers who have “Destiny” running hot and high in their blood. Players who visit PlanetDestiny also make use of its accessory sites, such as the YouTube channel to gather like-minded individuals to share their thoughts.

Another fan-made project is the simple stats that was compiled to see which “Destiny” players were able to play or achieve which particular feats in the game. Forbes has spotted the community creation by Reddit user btg7471, and shows off some interesting findings.

One surprising finding is that, despite the hype of Legendary or Exotic armours, only 31.1% of guardians were able to equip a piece of Exotic gear. Similarly, only 23.8% were able to wear Legendary/Exotic armour in every slot. In terms of reaching a rank, only 23.1% have reached ranked 3 with the Vanguard, while only 16.9% have maxed out their Warlocks or Hunter subclass. An even meager 15.2% were able to max out a Titan subclass. Finally, the Raids have an even more meager number, with only 19.2% of guardians recorded to have completed a Raid.

The source pegs this to the current system of the game. According to Forbes, it seems that s the end of the game’s story at level 20 and the endgame where they can be at the level to properly attain all the content for “Destiny” as the source of the problem. When one is stuck between the lower levels after the story’s end, there comes the endless grinding to level up, with only the special missions to aid players.

It’s interesting to see that this is still a problem, especially after many updates. Right, however, changing the structure of the game is impossible, and the only way to drive players who are still at the lower levels is the aspiration for Legendary gear. However, Forbes does make a good point of showing that this could be a problem that should be avoided in the sequel, especially since Bungie is looking at “Destiny” as a long-term title.
