‘Destiny’ ‘House of Wolves’ Reveal Trailer, Nightfall And Weekly Heroic Strikes For April 21
With less than a day till a full livestream reveal, Bungie has released a brief reveal trailer for its upcoming DLC pack, “House of Wolves.” As is customary, the studio has once again reset the “Destiny” servers, updating the game and sending Guardians on a mission to defeat the Archon Priests on Isthar Sink, Venus. The server reset also brings a welcome surprise in another round of Inferno Control, a competitive multiplayer mode that tasks gamers with capturing zones to increase points.
The “House of Wolves” reveal trailer is hosted on the official Bungie YouTube channel and offers a brief glimpse at the new Reef social space set to be unveiled. The trailer teases the impending live Twitch reveal as well as more info on the Reef, upgrade paths, new characters, gear upgrades and weapons.
Details of this week’s Heroic Strike come via the Arekkz Gaming YouTube channel, which notes gamers will have to tackle the Winter’s Run level 24 Heroic Strike with Heroic and Void Burn modifiers applied. As always, the Heroic modifier means an increased number of enemies with higher than usual aggression, while Void Burn greatly increases damage from any Void weapons. Weapon recommendations to tackle the Strike include Word of Crota, Ice Breaker, Black Hammer, Song of Ir Yut and Gjallarhorn.
The Nightfall Strike will call for players to think fast and be on their toes, as it comes with a Rainbow Burn, meaning both the player and enemies do additional damage with elemental attacks such as Arc Burn, Solar Burn and Void Burn. As usual, the Nightfall modifier means that if the entire Strike Team is wiped out, Guardians get kicked back into orbit.
April 22 will also see Bungie give its first livestream, offering players their first tour of the The Reef, set to be introduced in the upcoming “House of Wolves” DLC pack. “House of Wolves” is the second major expansion scheduled for “Destiny.”
“The next expansion for ‘Destiny’ is something we’re really looking forward to talking about. This month, there will come a day when we’ll reveal a release date for the trials that await you, with a whole reef of details soon to follow – but it is not this day,” Bungie community manager, Deej in a recent post on the Bungie Blog.
The post was followed with an announcement that “House of Wolves” would be released on May 19, with Bungie promising to roll out weekly updates that provide information on the upcoming release. Somewhat controversially, “House of Wolves” will not include any new raids, with the developer replacing them with a three-player co-operative arena mode called “Prison of the Elders.”
