Dionne Warwick confesses fear of quake, considering cancelling upcoming concerts in Japan
While not ruling out any chances of performing at the quake-stricken Japan, Warwick asserted that tremors could really make her very uneasy.
Singer Dionne Warwick has admitted her fear of earthquakes may force her to cancel upcoming tours in Tokyo.
The “Walk On By” hitmaker is scheduled to stage yet another concert tour in the Rising Sun but the recent developments in the country have prompted her team to seriously consider not flying to Tokyo.
She insisted that her entourage is still waiting for the green light, describing the situation in the city that could justify their decision not to hold the scheduled two Japanese concerts.
"We're still waiting for word. The last we heard it was still no power, they're still having aftershocks and I don't do earthquakes very well...,” Warwick was quoted as saying by the Aceshowbiz.
The singer then elaborated on how she is affected by tremors and said: They ran me out of this town... I left here in a flash."
While not ruling out any chances of performing at the quake-stricken Japan, Warwick asserted that tremors could really make her very uneasy.
She said, "Back east you kinda get a warning about hurricanes, you get a warning about tornadoes, so you know what to do. That last earthquake here, it threw me outta bed and when I got my bearings, I said, 'OK, I'm outta here... Whatever's here can stay.' "
