Duchess Got Dirty: Kate Middleton Spends Time with Kids in Muddy Forest, Answers What It’s Like to be Princess [PHOTOS]
Kate Middleton spends time with children as she joins them in camping trip. The Duchess of Cambridge looked far from her usual glamorous looks and slipped on a pair of rain boots for the muddy forest.
The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, was joined together with inner-city school children for a camping trip last Sunday morning. Dressed in casual outfits, Kate was all game to stomp around the woods together with 28 kids aged 8 to 9.
Kate visited the "Expanding Horizons" primary school at Wrotham, Kent which is coordinated by ARK Schools. The program is designed to give inner-city children a chance to venture in the countryside as well as to develop their skills and confidence.
The Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry is supporting ARK Schools with their works. Last year, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended a fundraising event which will benefit their foundation. It was one of their first ventures as a married couple.
Last Sunday however, Kate looked laid-back as she led the children in the woods. She was seen chatting with the kids as they circle in a camp fire and sitting down on dirt with the children under a canvas. In another picture, Kate was seen checking out a tipi after the children had told her they were nervous at their first night sleeping outside.
One of the kids, Tigerlily Smith bravely asked the Duchess what it was like to be princess. Some of them, curious of Kate's way of life asked questions altogether which the Duchess gladly answered.
"We asked how it felt to be a princess and she said it was very nice and she got to visit lots of countries but hadn't seen as many as William. She said William was very sweet and kind and spoiled her," Tigerlily said adding that Kate had been "lovely and very, very pretty."
"We told her about our camping and how we made our shelter and she was very impressed," 9 year-old Alpha Kolajo also revealed. When asked about her job, the Duchess of Cambridge said it was "very busy" but acknowledged that she was "very well looked after."
