Ed Sheeran is a hot topic nowadays, especially after appearing in the "Game of Thrones" season 7 premiere titled "Dragonstone" as a Lannister soldier. This isn't the first time he dabbled in acting, though. He has also appeared in other bit roles in several TV shows as well as in the "Bridget Jones's Baby" film with Renée Zellweger. The singer-songwriter also shared a scene with "Riverdale" star KJ Apa in the New Zealand soap opera "Shortland Street." 5. 'Shortland Street'
Sheeran was seen in a 2014 episode of the New Zealand prime-time soap opera "Shortland Street." He appeared alongside "Riverdale" star KJ Apa (Archie Andrews), who played the character Kane Jenkins from 2013 to 2015. The singer portrayed himself again and inspired Apa's character, who was having problems with his music. Cole Sprouse (Jughead Jones), who is Apa's costar in "Riverdale," even uploaded the clip on his Instagram story.
6. 'Undateable'
In NBC's "Undateable," the musician appeared as himself and performed singles "Photograph" and "Thinking Out Loud" in a live episode that aired in May 2014. There were two versions of the episode in the US. For the West Coast version, he performed "Photograph" at the Black Eyes Bar.
He also said the following line about Justin Bieber: "He was a lot slimmer at the beginning of the season, right?" On the other hand, the East Coast version shows him singing "Thinking Out Loud" and uttering a line about teaching Bieber's sister "how to butter a crumpet."
7. Sheeran in 'The Simpsons'
After appearing in these shows, it looks like Ed Sheeran is not over the acting scene just yet. He will be featured next in "The Simpsons" season 29, according to Entertainment Weekly. He will appear as a musician named Brendan in the episode titled "Haw-Haw Land," which is set to air in late fall. Sheeran said in an Instagram post that his character will have a thing with Lisa Simpson.
'Jumpers for Goalposts: Live at Wembley Stadium' film
Aside from his acting roles, the "Galway Girl" singer also appeared in his concert film titled "Jumpers for Goalposts: Live at Wembley Stadium" in 2015. The home video-turned-cinema event was beamed live via satellite in selected cinema screens worldwide on Oct. 22, 2015. It features several footage taken from Sheeran's "x Tour." He sang his chart-topping songs including "Sing" and "The A Team." Aside from that, he also performed two duets with Sir Elton John.
When not acting, Sheeran goes back to his first love, which is music. He will have a European and UK Tour in 2018, which will kick off on May 4, 2018 in Cork, Ireland. According to his website, there have been fraudulent ticket sales; that is why 10,000 tickets for the musician's UK tour have now been cancelled. They are being returned into the market to be purchased at face value. Resold tickets will only be valid via Twickets.co.uk., which is Sheeran's official resale partner.
