Emma Watson 'Nervous' for 'Perks of Being a Wallflower'?
Hermione Granger's' actress, Emma Watson, has gone from cutie to hottie for "Perks of Being a Wallflower."
The "Harry Potter" star did not only trade her signature bushy locks for a pixie cut but also her Hogwarts robes for skimpy lingerie. It's an all new break-out role for Emma Watson but what's this entire buzz about Emma being "nervous" for "Perks"?
The 22-year old actress just can't wait for "Harry Potter" fans to see the film adaptation to Stephen Chbosky's best-selling cult novel. In fact, Emma thinks "Potter" fans will find it as the perfect coming-of-age film for dedicated "Potter" fans.
"I think Harry Potter fans will love it because it has so much heart, like the Harry Potter stories do," explained Watson.
"I feel like it's the perfect transition from Harry Potter to kind of a more adolescent movie. It's a little bit of an older tone. It's darker," continued the 22-year old British actress.
Having said that it's the perfect film transition, what part of "Perks" made the lovely, Emma Watson nervous? Readers of the novel will probably know the answer to this. According to Emma, wearing lingerie for the dance routine in one scene made the nerves go hyper.
"I was very nervous to that stuff," said Emma on wearing lingerie for a dance routing from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" for one scene, adding, "It was tough."
Wearing the lingerie wasn't the only thing that made Emma nervous. Given Emma's character, Sam, is an all-American high school senior, Emma had to perfect her American accent. This too had made the famous, Hermione Granger, tense and uneasy. Thankfully, Emma's co-star, Ezra and Logan were very much willing to help her out.
"I really wanted to get that right," shared Emma, adding, "But Logan and Ezra were very instructive. If I ever said anything that sounded weird, they were like, 'That's not right!' and we would fix it."
Well, if it wasn't for Watson, the film would have never even been made.
"She read the book and became obsessed with it," said co-star, Johnny Simmons. "She heard they were making the movie and approached them about it. We wouldn't be here if it wasn't for her," continued Simmons.
Judging from the official movie trailer for "Perks of Being a Wallflower" released yesterday at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards, Emma Watson did a great job. The hype for the film release is already high and fans of Watson are just about ready to hit the big screen once the film does premiere.
