‘Empire’ season 3 episode 10 spoilers: With whom does Shyne’s loyalty lie?
“Empire” season 3 returns to Fox in the US for its midseason premiere on March 22. The 10th episode of the show has been titled “Keys to the Kingdom.” It will be followed by two more episodes. In the upcoming episode, fans will finally get to know what happens next after Andre Lyon (Trai Byers) was seen plotting with Shyne Johnson (Xzibit) to kill his father and hip hop mogul Lucious (Terrence Howard).
“Empire” executive producer Sanaa Hamri previously revealed that Andre is indeed determined to kill his father. "But Andre's character is so dangerous because he has nothing to lose and he's ruthless and he's calculating,” Hamri said. “When he hacked Empire, nobody found out and nobody knew it was him until the very end, so obviously he knows what he's doing. In his head, he wants to kill his dad,” she added.
“And we're going to see if Lucious is going to find out or not or be in harm's way,” Hamri said to Variety in December. This implies that the upcoming episode will reveal whether Shyne Johnson takes Andre’s offer or goes against him by tipping off Lucious of the impending threat.
Further reports state that the series will have actress Demi Moore return in her first-ever recurring TV role in decades. The actress has been slated to make her “Empire” debut with the season finale titled “Play On.” It has been alleged she will be playing “a take-charge nurse with a mysterious past,” per Entertainment Weekly.
Also, Moore’s daughter Rumer Willis will be joining the show as singer-cum-songwriter Tory Ash. It is however unknown if the mother and daughter will have a scene together. The synopsis for “Empire” season 3 episode 10 reads:
“The battle between Lucious and Cookie explodes into their biggest war yet. After launching a deadly missile at Angelo, Lucious announces his new music project, Inferno, and puts everyone on notice – especially Cookie, who then vows to knock him off his throne for good. The two engage in an epic clash – fueled by a history of love, loyalty, and betrayal.”
Fox announced renewal of “Empire” for its fourth and fifth seasons at the Television Critics Association winter press tour last month. The show will be back for an 18-episode telecast with executive producer Ilene Chaiken serving as the showrunner.
“Empire” season 3 midseason premiere airs on March 22 at 10:00 p.m. on Fox in the US. It has yet to be announced as to when the show arrives in Australia.
