Esperanza Spalding named Best New Artist at 53rd Grammys
Jazz singer and bassist, Spalding has beaten Justin Bieber in the Best New Artist category at the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards
Singer Esperanza Spalding has won the Best New Artist award at the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards held at the Staples Center this year, beating out big names such as Justin Bieber and Drake.
Armed with only one nomination at this year’s Grammys, the jazz singer and bassist has beaten other nominees including, teen pop sensation, Justin Bieber, Drake, Florence & the Machine and the UK-based bluegrass band, Mumford & Sons.
Spalding was nominated for her third CD, “Chamber Music Society”, which according to AP the New Artist of the year awardee, has released last summer
