[EXCLUSIVE] 'Full House' cast member Michael Sun Lee talks about returning in 'Fuller House'
Michael Sun Lee is back as a grown up Harry Takayama in the TV series “Fuller House.” Readers who have watched the late 80s TV series “Full House” will remember Harry as the young boy who had a mock wedding with Stephanie. [Update: The role of young Harry was played by Nathan Nishiguchi] In an exclusive interview with International Business Times, Australia Lee talked about what it was like to return to the show after all these years.
“Doing ‘Fuller House’ was truly a fun and rewarding experience. Playing this character as an adult carries a certain responsibility to do justice to the role and the show, but the writers make it easy,” Lee said. The actor teased that his character returns to ask Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin) “something very important.”
When asked about his best moment from the show, the actor said that meeting the “cast and creatives” and “experiencing the live audience/fan response first hand” was memorable for him.
The first season of the TV series has already aired. The show premiered on Feb 26 and has a total of 13 episodes. “Fuller House” has so far not been renewed for Season 2. The late 80s show “Full House” had a total of eight seasons.
When asked what he would like his character to do in the next season, Lee said that he would like to see Harry get married and more importantly find out who he will marry. “And for Stephanie to sing at his Wedding perhaps?” he joked.
Lee is a part of multiple new projects in 2016. “I am excited about ‘Kubo and the Two Strings’ an animated feature from Laika Studios coming out in August 2016,” he said. “It is one of the most amazing movies I have ever worked on. Just wait until you see it!”
Will fans finally get to see Harry get married in “Fuller House” Season 2? That would depend on how much of a demand there is for the TV series to continue.
