F1 News: Daniel Ricciardo shows off dancing moves at the 2015 US Grand Prix
Australian Red Bull driver Daniel Ricciardo showcased his dancing moves in an effort to fill time when the qualifying session at the Circuit of the Americas was hit by heavy rain on Saturday, Oct. 24. The Perth native indeed knew how to pass the time and kept himself as well as the Formula One (F1) fans entertained during the rain delay at the 2015 United States Grand Prix.
Sky Sports has the clip that shows Ricciardo asking his teammate Daniil Kvyat for a quick dance. The Red Bull duo may be the “best of enemies on the track,” as Sky Sports put it, but Ricciardo and Kvyat showed off their dancing skills and made silly moves to please the fans with a different form of entertainment, away from the usual extreme racing spectacle that they provide.
The 26-year-old also shared a snap of himself with his Russian teammate on his Instagram account. “So today was a washout but Dany & I managed to catch up on our weekly dancing lessons,” Ricciardo captioned the photo.
Ricciardo topped the timesheets, behind Mercedes’ Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton in Q2. After Saturday’s qualifying session was cancelled due to adverse weather conditions in Texas, the Q2 results were used to determine the grid positions of the drivers.
However, Ricciardo failed to capitalise on his P3 position. Red Bull team manager Christian Horner said it was a “disappointing finish after a strong start” for the Aussie driver. Ricciardo had a collision involving Nico Hulkenberg and Carlos Sainz. He fought hard to get the last available point in the final lap but wasn’t able to get a good result at the 2015 U.S. Grand Prix. Ricciardo finished 10th despite leading Sunday’s main race.
