Alarmed Netizens are currently expressing their anger and concern on social media sites over the viral Facebook photo of an unidentified woman pointing a gun to a baby's head. It is still undetermined if the shared image features a real gun or a cruel prank with a toy gun, but people find the image disturbing.

The Daily Star reports that the image initially appeared in an Argentinian Facebook page last August but was taken down. The domestic abuse blog "No Longer Victims" came across the alarming photo and immediately shared it with the caption that reads: "Share - please all over the Internet till we find this child and woman. Apparently there is no Facebook account that it came from so I've no idea as to how we find this little baby but if there is anybody on here or any of the pages that can help us to find this child please please do so."

The Opposing Views report speculated that the woman holding the gun could be in her 20s while the little child is aged 1-2 years old. Another entry to the No Longer Victims blog reads: "I was sent this picture today by a friend who was very distressed to see it on her page. It apparently was posted to see if anybody could find the girl and if they cared well we do care and we have to find this baby as this scares the hell out of me."

In Twitter world, two users also expressed their anger on the sick Facebook image. Twitter account @w0wstephanie posted "this bitch pointed a gun at her baby and posted the picture on facebook..." while user @RussellHarley1 wrote "Stupid cuntin women posing in paper with gun pointed at her baby wtf !!!!"

Hoax-Slayer Web site gave a brief analysis on the viral Facebook image where a debate goes on whether the gun is real or the captured image may have only been a foolish prank. "Many commentators have suggested that the gun is not real. Others have countered by pointing out that the act may still be considered abuse even if the gun wasn't real. But, although the image is certainly disturbing, it may have been just a foolish prank. The picture alone is not enough to ascertain if the child is being abused or is in any danger.'

However, Adriana Velez of The Stir believes that the image is already a cry for help regardless of the circumstances. "I don't know that a child that young fully comprehends the idea of a gun, though he or she probably can sense the implied threat."
