Derek Medina, a 31-year old guy from South Miami surrendered himself to the police on Thursday afternoon after claiming to have killed his wife and even posting the 'gruesome' pictures on Facebook.

The Chilling Post

It was The Miami Herald which reported first that Medina confessed to the police of being the killer of his own wife, Jennifer Alonso. As standard procedure, Facebook has removed the entire profile of Mr Medina.

The 'gruesome' picture posted on the popular social media site showed Medina's wife on bent knees and her head right against the cabinets in their kitchen. She was on her back with bloodied face and left arm. Medina even placed a caption for it which said, "RIP Jennifer Alfonso."

Additional police reports said that a 10-year-old child was inside the home during the time of death of Mr Medina's wife. The child was the victim's daughter, but not, however, of Mr Medina. The little girl was spotted by neighbors leaving the house as escorted by the police with her mum covered in blanket.

Derek Medina: Crazy or Battered Husband?

According to the alleged killer's father, his son mentioned to him that Ms Alfonso waved a knife to pose a threat to Mr Medina. And then from there, everything ended as a tragedy for the couple. With this news, it made a lot of minds thinking whether Mr Medina being a possible battered husband can be the reason that triggered him to snap and kill his own wife.

There may have not been numerous reports on battered husband cases lately but the recent viral video of the wife in tantrum when her hubby won't give what she wants can be one. It may not be directly a similar case but it can show the rage that women can be capable of showing too.

However, the other side of it all comes in with questioning the mental stability of Mr Medina.

Mr Medina is an author of self-help books and even maintained a Web site called Emotionalwriter.com. It's odd that one of his books is even titled How I Saved Someone's Life and Marriage and Family Problems Thru Communication. He also claimed that he appeared in a show called Burn Notice. He is an avid YouTube poster and neighbors attested he is seen around carrying a gun. To make it a lot worse, he also once claimed that he saved his wife from a ghost. He also talked about his sadness with the fact that humans are not preparing some sort of time machine for a much needed evacuation plan from aliens.

Miami Herald reported too that Medina is yet to be charged. As for now, it's up to the right authorities to the judgment that Mr Medina will soon get for his gruesome action.
