'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them': Behind the scenes featurette; J.K. Rowling reveals details about Wizarding schools
A new behind-the-scenes video of “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” shows the fans some of the sets of the movie and interviews with the director and some of the cast members.
Posted on the YouTube channel of Pottermore, the video has been describes as a celebration of “Harry Potter.” The name of the movie is featured in the movies of the popular franchise in the form of a book written by Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne), who is the protagonist of the forthcoming movie.
“It’s just unlike anything I’ve ever been a part of,” Redmayne said in the video. “Sometimes I walk around and I’ll just have like something in my hand and I’ll just forget that I can’t make things move,” said Alison Sudol (Queenie Goldstein).
Cast member Katherine Waterston (Porpentina Goldstein) explained that even though the sets are quite incredible for the cast, they have to try and make it seem natural for their characters and show the audience that their characters are a part of the magical world. To do that, the cast members had to suppress their sense of wonder on the sets of “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.”
“It’s incredibly exciting. We are working directly with J.K. [Rowling]. Its her first screenplay,” said director David Yates. The director explained that the plot of the movie revolves around Newt travelling to New York with suitcase full of “extraordinary creatures” that escape in the city.
The movie will show how the witches and wizards in the US live a different life compared to their European counterparts. “Harry Potter” book series author Rowling recently shared details about some of the other Wizarding schools that are located around the world on her Pottermore website.
“Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” is slated to be released on Nov. 18 in the US and the UK. The movie will take the fans back to the Wizarding world of “Harry Potter” after five years.
