'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them' creatures to include a pale serpent, treasure hunter and a magical dog
A pale snake, a treasure hunter and a magic dog are reportedly some of the creatures that will be seen in “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.” The main plot of the movie has also been revealed in a recent report.
According to a report by Entertainment Weekly, there will be at least seven creatures that will be seen in the movie. The creatures are Ashwinder, Lethifold, Niffler, Augurey, Bowtruckle, Crup and Merpeople.
Ashwinder is a pale serpent that is created from “embers of a magical fire.” Lethifold is a creature that looks like a dark cloak and it suffocates people in their sleep. Niffler is a treasure hunting creature that is attracted to shiny things.
Augurey is an Irish phoenix that is green-black in colour. Crup is a dog with a forked tail. Merpeople are creatures that live under water. Bowtruckle is a “stick-like” creature and one such creature lives in the pocket of the protagonist Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne).
The main plot of “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” revolves around magizoologist Newt travelling to America. According to another report by Entertainment Weekly, Newt travels to New York and finds that the wizarding community there lives in fear of the non magic folk, who are called No-Maj in the movie. Ordinary people with no magic powers were called Muggles in the “Harry Potter” movies.
Newt travels to America with his magic case that contains many creatures that he collected from his extensive travels. Some of these creatures are very dangerous and the adventure in the movie begins when some of these creatures escape from the case.
The protagonist will have to find the escaped creatures in “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” before they cause any damage or expose the wizarding world to the No-Maj. The report notes that the “threat of public exposure” of the wizarding world is far greater in America than in the UK.
