‘The Fate of the Furious’ theory: Cipher’s connection with Paul Walker’s Brian O'Conner
“The Fate of the Furious” is highly anticipated as fans can’t wait to know why Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) is betraying his family, as revealed in the trailer. Already a lot of theories are doing the rounds justifying Dom’s move. Fans now speculate that Dom is indebted to Cipher (Charlize Theron), who might be his or Brian O'Conner’s (Paul Walker) old acquaintance. Hence, he has to agree to her terms to save his family of friends.
This is not the first time that the audience will observe the lead actor teaming up with a villain in a movie and betraying his associates. More often than not, there is a good reason behind that in such stories. Going by that, probably, Dom is indebted to Cipher, and hence, he can’t help but follow her instructions or else dire consequences may follow upon his family.
If Cipher is blackmailing him or does Dom owe it to her remains to be seen in “The Fate of the Furious.” However, Diesel mentioned before that his move as Dom to betray his family was inevitable. “It was inevitable that there would be a chapter that would challenge that concept of family. I guess it all makes sense when you see the film,” he said in a video that he posted on Facebook.
Another possibility may be that Cipher is also a part of his family (an old acquaintance may be). There’s something that happened in the past for which Dom owes it to Cipher. She can’t be a usual criminal mind trying to seduce him. There will be more to the story for sure. What relationship will she have with Dom is only left for the fans to guess. She could be a close friend, his former girlfriend or Brian O'Conner’s (Paul Walker) acquaintance. Nothing can be said to be true as of now.
“The Fate of the Furious” is helmed by F Gary Gray. The movie will hit the theatres in Australia on April 12. Apart from Diesel, Dwayne Johnson (Hobbs), Michelle Rodriguez (Letty) and Jason Statham (Deckard Shaw), this time Charlize Theron, Helen Mirren and Kurt Russell (Mr Nobody) will also be a part of the forthcoming film in the franchise.
