'The Fault in Our Stars' Augustus Waters Casting: Five Actors Perfect to Play the Role [PHOTOS]
Last month, Shailene Woodley had officially signed on to play Hazel Grace Lancaster and fans of John Green's best-selling novel, "The Fault in Our Stars" are patiently waiting for the announcement of casting their Augustus Waters. It has been a while since that fateful day and by the looks of it, the production studio is having a hard time deciding. Well, fret no more because here are five potential stars fit to play Augustus "Gus" Waters.
Casting for Augustus Waters is taking quite a while. Given Augustus many "likeable" qualities, it would be difficult to immediately find a suitable actor to portray the cancer-stricken teenager. While John Green would perfectly play Gus in his own world, some fans still highly agree the role should be given to an actor within the same age bracket as Shailene Woodley.
Hollywood is obviously filled with a lot of attractive actors with the potential to play the character of Waters. However, Director Josh Boone wants the actor to play Gus to be "not older than 25 years of age." This requirement certainly slims down the chances of a few stars that could play the blue-eyed and dark-haired boy. One early favourite for the role is Joseph Gordon-Levitt but given his age, Boone would not likely call him in for a reading.
