'The Fault in Our Stars' Movie Casting: Five Confirmed Actors to Test for Augustus Waters Role [PHOTOS]
Finally, after the long wait, five actors have been called to audition for the part of Augustus Waters in the highly-anticipated film adaptation of John Green's best-selling novel, "The Fault in Our Stars." Who are these five lucky boys? Read on to find out.
Time Magazine's book of the year for 2012 had fallen in the honour of John Green's novel, "The Fault in Our Stars." The novel tells the heart-gripping tale of two Cancer-stricken teenagers falling in love. With its emotional honesty and warmth, the book just needed to be made into a film and thankfully Hollywood heard of the plea.
Josh Boone is set to direct the film adaptation and Shailene Woodley had already been cast earlier this year for the role of Hazel Grace Lancaster. As for the role of Augustus Waters, Hazel Grace's love interest, it has taken quite a while for updates on the casting. However, all that has finally changed with the latest news involving five actors eyed for the role.
Brenton Thwaites, Nick Robinson, Ansel Elgort, Nat Wolff and Noah Silver will be tested this weekend for the role of Augustus "Gus" Waters. Hopefully, one of these five fine young men manages to nab the highly-esteemed role.
For those who don't know who these actors are, here is a quick rundown. Brent Thwaites starred in the film "Blue Lagoon." On the other hand, Nat Wolff is set to star opposite Selena Gomez in the film, "Behaving Badly." Robinson is set to star in CBS Films "The Kings of Summer" while Silver continues his stint on "The Borgias." One with multiple projects is Elgort who is also set to star in another film adaptation, "Divergent" alongside Shailene Woodley.
Early favourites for the role weren't considered namely Logan Lerman, Dylan O'Brian, Avan Jogia, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Douglas Booth and Andrew Garfield.
While Josh Boone is on board to direct the film, Michael Weber is set for the adapted script along with Scott Neustadter. Temple Hill Entertainment's Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen are set to produce the film.
