'Fifty Shades Darker' updates: Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson are not happy with their roles
Jamie Dornan, who plays the lead role of Christian Grey in “Fifty Shades of Grey” and “Fifty Shades Darker,” is apparently embarrassed and is regretting being affiliated to his character. On the other hand, even Dakota Johnson, who plays the role Anastasia Steele in both the movies, is also reportedly unhappy with her role.
Jamie felt a swirl of emotions, ranging from embarrassment to regret, because of his role as business tycoon, Christian. The Irish actor has always been blunt from the start, saying that he only took up this role in “Fifty Shades” for bigger opportunities in Hollywood. A report mentioned that Jamie is keen to get away with his alliance in the popular series.
“Jamie Dornan has made it pretty clear that he’s desperate his ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ image, despite the fact that the franchise has helped make him a household name and international star,” a report on Celebrity Dirty Laundry said. Jamie has not commented on the issue but confirmed that he will not reprise his role despite the franchise plans of producing more sequels.
“We’ve done two movies back to back now, and I’m actually finished with it, I’ve done ‘Fifty Shades’ forever,” Jamie told The Sun.
Meanwhile, Dakota has apparently grown tired of the BDSM (bondage, discipline, domination and submission) roleplaying. She discussed the challenges she had to face while she was filming, in an interview with Time.
“There’s a scene in which Christian uses a flogger on Anastasia. Filming a sex scene is not a sensual or pleasurable environment. It’s really hot – not in a steamy, sexual way. It’s just sweaty and it’s not very comfortable. And on top of that, my hands and legs were tied, and I was blindfolded, and I was being hit with this bizarre tool,” Dakota said. “At first I was like, ‘Oh my God, this is the worst thing ever,’ and then I was like, ‘All right, let’s get on with it.’”
“Fifty Shades of Grey” has garnered massive success on both novel and film. The second installment, “Fifty Shades Darker,” is set to premiere in February 2017 and is forecasted to be another blockbuster.
