‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ Casting News: Actress Rooney Mara Interested to Portray Anastasia Steele [PHOTOS]
What Rooney Mara said in an interview with "The Daily Beast" has ignited the rumors on the actress' possibility to be included in the cast of the upcoming "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie. "The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo" actress revealed the type of characters that she would like to portray and it sounds like one of them is Anastasia Steele.
"I'm interested in the duality of people. I have a lot of darkness and frenetic energy inside myself, so it's easier for me to portray people with shades of grey," Mara stated. With her interest on complicated roles, the 27-year-old actress will not have any problems turning into Anastasia Steele.
Rooney Mara has this undeniable capability of transforming herself for the film character like Lisbeth Salander in "The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo." It would not be difficult for Rooney to do the same with Anastasia Steele as she shifts from a shy college student to a sex goddess.
"I'm very shy but when I get comfortable with people I'm not and I have a little spark to my personality, a little punch. But I'm very slow to warm up to people," Mara revealed. Rooney Mara's experience with nudity and sex scenes has been considered as another reason why she is perfect to portray the love interest of dark billionaire Christian Grey.
In the "Side Effects" movie, Rooney Mara's co-stars Channing Tatum and Jude Law agree that the actress can definitely portray any role given to her. "It's hard to really quantify Rooney, she has such a fire in her and you don't think she does, because she's so unassuming. So when she snaps, you're just like, 'How the f**k did that come out of this little, ethereal being with the porcelain skin?' And when she laughs it's completely shocking, too. It's part of her mystique," Channing Tatum shared.
Actor Jude Law further stated: "There isn't a desperate bone in her body, she's very cool. And it's a rarity for someone of her age to be so fearless as a performer. She's capable of going to the dark places, which is bold."
Meanwhile, Rooney Mara plans to have a break from her busy working schedule to avoid overexposure. "I like working all the time, but I don't think it's good to have yourself out there all the time. I don't want people to get sick of me," the actress said.
Rooney Mara has four more movies scheduled to be released this 2013 such as films with Terence Malick and director Steven Soderbergh. The actress will reprise as well the role of genius hacker but social misfit Lisbeth Salander for the second movie installment titled "The Girl Who Played With Fire."
