Apparently, author E.L. James has found a potential Hollywood actor to portray Christian Grey for the highly anticipated film adaptation of "Fifty Shades of Grey." Matt Bomer of "White Collar" may be a fan favourite but when it comes to the author of the franchise itself, Bomer is a loser.

For one, E.L. James greatly approves in "Vampire Diaries" star, Ian Somerhalder as Christian Grey.

Last Tuesday, February 19, E.L. James had responded to a Twitter post of which she rarely does. In the post, the Twitter book blog by the name of "Bookish Temptations" posted a photo of Ian Somerhalder wearing a masquerade mask. The photo had the caption, "All I can see of his face is his beautiful chiselled mouth and strong jaw."

The said photo and tweet had tagged E.L. James and several other Twitter users. Surprisingly, E.L. James responded to the tweet. However, the response wasn't a direct claim that Ian Somerhalder was the perfect Christian Grey yet it did show off approval.

"@E_L_James: "@BookTemptations :D," stated James.

Obviously, the smiley was enough to convince the authors' followers that Ian Somerhalder was the perfect actor to be cast as Christian Grey. A lot of them agreed with "Bookish Temptations" that tweets about Ian Somerhalder playing in "Fifty Shades" exploded on the social networking site.

@biamomoa: "How can someone deny that Ian IS Mr. Grey? The one and only! Perfect!" stated on Twitter user, Bia Momoa.

@KmiLaSomerholic: "Did you see this E.L?@iansomerhalder is perfect! ;)," added another user, KmiLa Somerholic.

For one, Ian Somerhalder still has a lot of fans despite Matt Bomer winning countless web polls casting for Christian Grey. Bomer isn't the only Hollywood actor Ian should be wary of. "Man of Steel's" Henry Cavill is also popular among "Fifty Shades" fans as a potential actor for the 27-year old entrepreneur.

Other actors in the business up for the role include "Pretty Little Liars'" Ian Harding, "Gossip Girls'" Chace Crawford and Ed Westwick. Universal Studios did confirm that casting may be far off with a director still not up on the seat. For now, all fans can do is wait and see who gets cast in the film adaptation set for a summer 2014 release.
