The official film adaptation for "Fifty Shades of Grey" is still in the works. Currently, E.L. James and Universal Studios are busy finding the film adaptation a director. Still, with fans hungry for the film that isn't stopping them from imagining who could play the lead roles.

With the hype still on high, here are the top three fan-made couples making waves as Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey.

Casting for the fan-fiction turned best-selling novels "Fifty Shades" is still underway. With Universal Studios and "Fifty Shades" Publishing busy with legal issues with a porn producer, getting actors and actresses for the role is the last thing on their minds.

Yet, fans being adamant about the film aren't sidetracked about casting at all. In fact, fan made polls continue to fill the web. Henry Cavill from the highly-anticipated film remake of "Superman", "Man of Steel" is currently the number one actor set for Christian Grey. Joining Cavill at the top as his pair, Anastasia Steele is "Game of Thrones'" Emilia Clarke. The pair has quite a lot of fan made photos ranking them as the top couple to portray Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey.

The second pairing on the list is Matt Bomer as Christian Grey alongside Alexis Bledel as Anastasia Steele. The "White Collar" actor might have said no to the role in multiple interviews but that isn't stopping his fans from making fan photos of him paired with "Gilmore Girls" star, Alexis.

Last year's fan favorite, Ian Somerhalder still manages to make it to the fan poll as Christian Grey. As for Ian's Anastasia Steele, fans are bent on pairing "The Vampire Diaries" star onscreen and off screen girlfriend, Nina Dobrev. Despite James claiming the couple to be too "close" to "Vampire Diaries", fans and readers still see the pairing a great possibility.

As mentioned, casting for the film adaptation is still far from the plans. Currently, Universal Studios is searching for a director. As for the script writer, Brett Easton Ellis has been out of the running after his "gay comment" for Matt Bomer. It was Kelly Marcel who had been tapped to write the screenplay for the "Fifty Shades" film adaptation.
