Casting calls for the lead roles in the highly anticipated film adaptation of E.L. James' best-selling erotica novel were finally announced. Every fan of the BDSM-themed series was antsy to find out who would nab the lead roles of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele. Well, for the part of Christian, anyone wanting to try out for the part should better be between the ages of 25 and 33 as instructed by Producer Michael De Luca.

E.L. James' raunchy novel may have started out as fan fiction, but since its debut late last 2012, the sales were nothing but astounding. In fact, "Fifty Shades of Grey" was named the fastest-selling paperback of all time, beating even the great J.K. Rowling's "Harry Potter." The sales were sure to increase once the film adaptation hits cinemas by August 24, 2014. Of course, before the film, a cast should be filled out.

Fans waited months for an announcement with regards to an official cast. Yet, Universal Studios and Focus Features kept mum about it. That was until early this week when casting calls for the lead roles went out. The casting director for "Fifty Shades" not only reviewed submissions by various agents but was also opening up casting for the general public.

For those wanting to try out, there was, of course, a catch. Producer Michael De Luca announced an age bracket for the lead roles of Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey. For the part of Ana, De Luca was looking for women between the ages of 20 and 25. As for the part of Christian, De Luca was looking for men between the ages of 25 and 33.
