Fans of E.L. James best-selling erotica novel, "Fifty Shades of Grey" have been waiting months for an official cast. Since the casting call announced early in August, a cast is yet to be push forth by the production studio. However, it appears as if a strong contender is out for the part with rumours supporting such claims. Is Emilia Clarke officially the Anastasia Steele for "Fifty Shades of Grey?"

Almost a year has passed since the announcement that E.L. James best-selling novel, "Fifty Shades of Grey" would be turned into a film. September has already begun yet still no news about an official cast. Lately, rumours have circulated around the web of stars eyed by the production studio one of them includes Cara Delevingne.

British model Cara Delevingne might have been eyed initially for the part but apparently the model is officially out of the running. Some sources claim Cara wasn't really Anastasia Steele material. Entertainment Wise of course says otherwise. The report claims Cara backed out of the running for the iconic part because of "Game of Thrones" star Emilia Clarke.

"Cara Delevingne may have been rumoured to play the lead in the upcoming 'Fifty Shades Of Grey' movie, but according to new reports, the model has been passed over for the role in favour of 'Game Of Thrones' star Emilia Clarke," reports Entertainment Wise, adding "The 21-year-old supermodel reportedly auditioned for the movie screen version of the erotic bestseller back in June but has now been overshadowed by Clark, who is allegedly the producers' favourite for the role."

Emilia Clarke has long been a fan favourite for the part alongside "Gilmore Girls" Alexis Bledel. Unlike Bledel who certainly loses to the part because of her age, Emilia is of the right age and the perfect looks for the role of Anastasia Steele.
