Kevin Zegers may star as Alec Lightwood in the upcoming film adaptation of "The Mortal Instruments" but a few fans are eyeing him for a different role. The Hollywood hunk is currently the newest addition of the "Fifty Shades" fandom. "Fifty" fans want Zegers for the role of Christian Grey.

Given Universal Studios and Focus Features are taking such a long time to announce a cast, fans have taken the casting to polls online. Numerous names have been mentioned as potential stars to portray Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele in the upcoming film adaptation of "Fifty Shades of Grey."

Late last month, two new additions to the list of possible stars for Christian Grey included Hugh Dancy of "Hannibal" and Joseph Gordon-Levitt of "Don Jon." A recurring favourite, Ryan Gosling, had been up once more for the role all thanks to his new film, "Only God Forgives."

The most recent addition nowadays comes in the former "Air Bud" star, Kevin Zegers. Zegers had initially been brought in to the mix all thanks to his tweet about understanding Amanda Bynes given he too has "trundled into some fairly dark and rancid places."

Judging however from the acting perspective, Zegers played the part of an extremely wealthy character in "Gossip Girl." Christian Grey being a multi-millionaire, Zegers could easily pull off the role. As of late, the only films keeping Zegers preoccupied is the film adaptation of Cassandra Clare's best-selling novels, "The Mortal Instruments."
