Ian Somerhalder of "The Vampire Diaries" might have some tough competition for the role of Christian Grey. "Fast & the Furious" star, Paul Walker, is currently the flavour for the month for the S&M role. Since expressing his thoughts on the part, Paul Walker has been eyed as the next Christian Grey.

"Fifty Shades of Grey" fanatics have found a new favourite once more. After having to choose between the three strongest contenders namely Matt Bomer, Henry Cavill and Ian Somerhalder, some have opted to look elsewhere for potential stars.

Obviously, fans of E.L. James' novels have found their Christian Grey in "Fast and the Furious" star, Paul Walker. Blame Paul's recent interview that catapulted him into the world of "Fifty Shades."

"It would be really important to have incredible chemistry with whoever the girl was and it couldn't be something you would have to force," said Walker in an interview with ET Canada, adding, "I think the people need to spend a lot of time together and intimate time would probably help, you know?"

Paul Walker's statement on the film plus his co-star, Jordana Brewster's expression of interest in the role of Ana as well, has led fans to root for the "Fast and the Furious" couple for "Fifty Shades." Yet, Paul Walker, with the ruggedly handsome look and six-pack abs, might be a tad bit too old for the role of 27-year old Christian Grey given he is currently 39-years of age.

Still, Cosmopolitan agrees with the latest favourite for the role. Should Paul Walker be Christian Grey for the upcoming film adaptation of "Fifty Shades of Grey?"
