"Twilight" couple, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart may have been the inspiration behind the "Fifty Shades of Grey" pairing but that doesn't mean they'd be playing Christian and Ana. However, sources close to the pair claim that they could be reconsidered for the role. Does this mean that the "Robsten" couple would have to rekindle their romance for the film adaptation?

E.L. James' best-selling erotica novel, "Fifty Shades of Grey" would not have come to be if not for Stephanie Meyer's "Twilight." Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele would also not be formed if not for inspiration taken from Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart respectively.

Thus, it's not surprising why a few "Twi-hards" insist that the "Robsten" couple play the lead parts in the upcoming film adaptation of "Fifty Shades of Grey." Last year, E.L. James stated that Robert and Kristen would not be considered for the film given their successful careers. Yet, it looks as if James has changed her mind on the matter.

Late last month, James was spotted at Robert Pattinson's "Gatsby"-themed party. Onlookers claim that the two were caught up in a serious conversation. Could it be casting for the role of Christian Grey perhaps? Fans can only hope. Still, that could be the deal given they are at the top of "Fifty Shades" director, Sam Taylor-Johnson's casting wish list.

"Rob and Kristen will both have to audition like everyone else, although they are bang at the top of director Sam Taylor-Johnson's wish list," said a senior source of Focus Features, adding, "They are virtually guaranteed to stimulate huge box office interest."

Yet, with the "Robsten" couple currently in shambles, it'll be difficult to see Robert and Kristen sharing the spotlight once again.

"We are definitely looking towards a franchise. And with five Twilight films under their belts, Rob and Kristen have already proved they can carry a big-budget series. The way we are looking at it, their previous personal problems might make things awkward at first on set," continued the insider, adding, "But their high-profile romance and headline-making break-ups will definitely add some more spice for fans."
