Countless lists of potential stars set to star in the film adaptation of "Fifty Shades of Grey" grow in number each day. Fans of E.L. James best-selling erotica novel always come up with potential stars that could play the roles of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele. Another name thrown into the mix is Simon Baker.

Ever since Universal Studios and Focus Features have announced the film adaptation for "Fifty Shades", fans have been nothing short of desperate for a cast. Yet, with the script still currently worked on by Kelly Marcel and the director's chair empty, a cast is way along ahead of schedule.

Despite the announcement of the film out by summer of 2014, potential stars that may be called in a reading for the roles of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele will be placed on hold. Of course, this has never hindered fans from coming up with endless lists of possible Hollywood stars to play the lead roles.

For the role of Anastasia Steele, Emilia Clarke of "Game of Thrones" is the current fan favourite. Following close is Alexis Bledel of "Gilmore Girls." A few other notable names earning the attention for the role of Ana include Allison Williams of "Girls", Lucy Hale & Troian Bellisario of "Pretty Little Liars", Emma Watson of "Harry Potter" and Nina Dobrev of "The Vampire Diaries."

On the other hand, for the role of Christian Grey, "The Vampire Diaries" star, Ian Somerhalder is the number one fan favourite. Other actors in the top five include Henry Cavill of "Man of Steel", Matt Bomer of "White Collar", Stephen Amell of "Arrow", Ryan Gosling of "Drive" and Armie Hammer of "The Social Network."

Another actor thrown into the mix with the possibility of playing Christian Grey is Simon Baker. Like Ian Somerhalder, Baker had expressed an interest in starring in the film adaptation for "Fifty Shades of Grey."

"Perhaps I am a little bit too old, but I would like to play a role in Shades of Grey," said Baker in an interview with German newspaper, Bild.

For those who don't know, Baker is 43-years of age and indeed he is "too old" to play the role of 27-year old Christian Grey. However, judging from Baker's looks he could pull off the role of Christian. What do "Fifty" fans think: is Simon Baker the next potential Christian Grey?
