'Fifty Shades of Grey' Movie Casting: 'Star Trek' Actor Chris Pine as Christian Grey, New Rival to Ian Somerhalder, Matt Bomer? [PHOTOS]
The "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie casting list for the role of Christian Grey continues to lengthen and the new actor currently thrown into the casting poll is "Star Trek" and "This Means War" actor Chris Pine. Could the hot and good-looking blue-eyed star become a new rival of fan-favorite Ian Somerhalder and Matt Bomer for the much coveted male character?
Chris Pine's smoldering eyes, masculine features and chiseled form may convince some Fifty Shades of Grey fans that the 32-year-old actor could be the perfect billionaire Christian Grey. Chris had previously explained to Celebuzz why his name was brought up as the actor who could potentially portray the handsome but dark male lead character.
"The only reason this came out is because I was asked on the red carpet in Las Vegas if I had read it, or if I was interested in it. On red carpets as people throw questions at you, you try and answer as quickly as possible," Chris stated.
To make things more interesting, Chris Pine recently revealed in an interview about being open to accept the movie role. "If it's a good script, I'd take a look at it but I don't know anything other than that. I don't know anything about it other than I know many women that are reading the novels and enjoy them very much," Chris shared.
When Access Hollywood further pressed on Chris Pine about the "Fifty Shades of Grey" casting news, the actor replied: "It'd be a hell of a choice for me, I think. It sounds like an interesting film." The upcoming movie adaptation of E.L. James' erotic novels is scheduled to hit the movie theatres on August 1, 2014.
