'Fifty Shades of Grey' Movie Casting: Armie Hammer as Elliot Grey or Christian Grey? [PHOTOS]
"The Social Network's" Armie Hammer may have made up his mind about not starring in the film adaptation for "Fifty Shades of Grey," but some fans still rooted for him. In fact, Armie was eyed for two iconic roles in the film, namely Christian Grey and Elliot Grey. Of course, only one part can belong to the "Lone Ranger" star. So which suits him better: Christian or Elliot Grey?
Early last June, the "Lone Ranger" star shut down casting rumours of him taking part in E.L. James' novel dubbed as "mommy porn." Despite being a fan favourite for almost a year, Armie has taken no interest whatsoever in the film adaptation.
"No one actually offered me the movie, but while I was working on 'Lone Ranger' my agent brought it up, and I said 'Nope'. I mean, come on - it's just mommy porn," said Hammer. "I'm not going to sit on top of the laundry machine in spin cycle reading about putting a ball gag in someone's mouth. That doesn't do it for me," he added.
That certainly cleared up rumours of Armie ever starring in Sam Taylor-Johnson's directed film. Yet, fans continued to root for the "Mirror Mirror" star, claiming Armie still has a shot at another role in the movie. This role would be that of Christian Grey's older brother, Elliot Grey. Elliot was described as the lovable and outgoing type that makes Ana question if he was really in any way blood related to Christian.
"Fifty Shades" fans agreed that Armie Hammer has what it takes to play Elliot Grey. If playing Christian "doesn't do well" for the "Social Network" star, then maybe he was most definitely suited to play the part of Elliot.
