With only a few more weeks to go before August ends, there has been no official casting announcement as of late. Casting speculations continue even with the casting call having been announced earlier this month. For those keeping track of casting, here are the top contenders for the part of Anastasia Steele.

Fans of E.L. James best-selling erotica continue to root for their favourites for the role of Ana and Christian. Despite the qualifications set out by the production studio with regards to the casting call, Hollywood stars of the "well-known" category are still the strongest contenders.

Judging from all the tweets and Facebook fan pages, the top contenders for the part of Anastasia Steele are Alexis Bledel of "Gilmore Girls", Emilia Clarke of "Game of Thrones", Amanda Seyfried of "Lovelace" and Jane Levy of "Evil Dead."

Ironically, given the qualifications for the part of Ana, Alexis Bledel may be too old for the part. Producers strictly want females for the part of Ana between the ages of 20 to 25. Bledel, the top contender for the role, is already 31 years of age.

As for Amanda and Emilia, both these stars have made a name for themselves in the Hollywood biz. Again, another qualification for the lead part in the film adaptation is that the celebs eyed for the role should fall under the "unknown" category. Of course, this would only mean Emilia and Amanda might have a lower chance of being considered for the film.

The only best option among the top contenders would most likely be Jane Levy. Even with the big film remake of "Evil Dead", Levy still isn't much of a household name. Apart from that, Levy has all the physical characteristics of Ana save for the bright ginger hair. In fact, quite a few fans of E.L. James' novel consider Levy as the "perfect" Anastasia Steele next to Alexis Bledel.
