"Fifty Shades of Grey" fans might have something to celebrate about because news has it that a director has finally been found. "Anna Karenina's" Joe Wright is said to take on the BDSM-themed film adaptation. How true are the rumours?

While some avid readers of E.L. James best-selling erotica novel are focused on the official cast, some are patiently waiting on the news of a director hired for the film. So far, Universal Studios and Focus Features haven't found a suitable candidate but speculations continue online.

According to numerous web sites, the director from "Anna Karenina", Joe Wright is eyed for the job. The Hollywood Reporter had named "multiple sources" of Wright being named as the director for the upcoming film. Currently, Joe is the frontrunner for the job but a deal has not yet been placed.

"Sources caution that there is no deal in place, and Wright has not officially won the job," reports The Hollywood Reporter.

However, Universal Studios did not comment on the matter which leaves fans to wonder if the reports are true. Reports from The Wrap also claim that agency insiders, Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti, are rooting for Joe Wright to direct "Fifty Shades."

If the reports are true, Joe Wright is the perfect candidate for the job given he has taken on literary adaptations to the visual best. Wright was behind the 2007 adaptation of "Atonement", 2005 "Pride & Prejudice" and 2012 "Anna Karenina."
