'Fifty Shades of Grey' Movie: Should Dakota Johnson Be Paired with a British, American or Australian Christian Grey?
The search for Christian Grey continues with two latest actors having read opposite Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele. No word about a "tangible chemistry" between the actors who have been paired with Johnson. Given all three nationalities having read opposite Dakota, who is more suitable to be Christian Grey: British actor Jamie Dornan, American actor Billy Magnussen or Australian actor Luke Bracey?
After Charlie Hunnam left the part of Christian Grey late last week, producers where left to frantically search for a suitable replacement. So far, only a few actors made it to the final reading. However, no word as to whom among these three would be considered for the part.
Friday last week, Jamie Dornan of "The Falls" had undergone a screen test opposite Dakota Johnson. Sources claim the British star had an "amazing read" that he could nab the part of Christian Grey and cast a shadow over Dakota Johnson's performance.
"He had a really good read [Friday] ... The studio isn't worried about Dakota. They think she could handle whoever the guy is," stated the source.
Aside from Jamie Dornan, two other stars have been confirmed to have gone through a screen test with Dakota Johnson. First up is American Broadway star, Billy Magnussen. Like Jamie Dornan who has no qualms going naked, Bracey had appeared shirtless on half of his stage performances.
With British Jamie Dornan and American Billy Magnussen in the running, someone from "down under" has also jumped in to the competition for Christian Grey. The second star considered for the part in "Fifty Shades of Grey" is none other than Australian actor, Luke Bracey. Bracey is best known for his part as Trey Palmer on "Home & Away" but he made headlines after appearing at the Golden Globes hand in hand with Selena Gomez.
Well, that counts as three nationalities up for one role. With all three stars equally talented and good-looking, who among them is more suitable to play Christian Grey opposite Dakota Johnson? Should the British hunk from "Once Upon a Time", Jamie Dornan take the part or should American Broadway actor, Billy Magnussen take the part? Would Australian hunk, Luke Bracey have something special to bring to the set?
Only Dakota Johnson, E.L. James and producers can decide for sure. Hopefully, this time around they get the casting for Christian Grey done right.
