‘Final Fantasy XV’ combat may include gambit system, monster climbing and automatic weapon switching
The developer of “Final Fantasy XV” has been sharing a lot of new information about the game. Recently, the newest avenue to do this is through the official forums, where they could address some of the fans’ queries.
Nova Crystallis has spotted some of these new responses, which reveal some new combat system mechanics. First up is the gambit system, reportedly set to have a few similar steps what has been seen in “Final Fantasy XII.” This means that the system will let players choose what kind of battle style to use on the field. But Lead Game Designer Prasertvithyakarn Prasert added that the system will be a little different from the gambit system, with details set to be revealed sometime later on.
There will also appear to be a combat mechanic that will allow players to weaken their enemies by targeting their body parts. This can also be done on the monsters’ vulnerable spots and making a combat move on them. Apparently, this move will play a big part in battles, but the developer has yet to give more details.
Previously, Square Enix has hinted its plans for the battle system in “Final Fantasy XV.” Following what was shown in the demo for Episode Duscae, the publisher appears to have considered fans’ input into the development process.
Instead of an automatic switching system for weapons, it has now been replaced by manual switching that gives more control to the players. According to Destructoid, what this does is that it allows players to create combos that can be chained together.
Battle scenes appear to take a more complex turn in “Final Fantasy XV.” In discussing the black outfits that the lead characters in the game, the developer also mentioned that the clothes will play a part in the actual battle beyond mere identification. This mechanic has also yet to be revealed.
“Final Fantasy XV” developer has already completed a good deal of the pre-beta version. However, Square Enix has been quick to explain that even though the genera process is complete, this does not mean that the game is already final in terms of content.
The developer has already confirmed that it will be including Moogles into “Final Fantasy XV.” This is in response to the overwhelming votes doled by fans following Square Enix’s informal poll of whether or not fans prefer to see Moogles in the game.
“Final Fantasy XV” does not have a definite release date as of yet, but Square Enix has hinted at a 2016 full reveal. It will debut on the PS4 and Xbox One.
