After nearly a decade of patiently waiting, fans have finally been able to get their hands on “Final Fantasy XV.” While the full game is still quite a way off, a substantial demo for the game was bundled in with first-run prints of “Final Fantasy Type-0 HD.” Fans who have finished the game report that there’s a hidden movie unlocked at the demo’s end, but is it worth the price some are paying for the game on eBay? [Warning: Potential Spoilers Alert!]

The video, posted online by YouTube user SCRAWLfx, comprises slow pans over impressively detailed art, with expositional text overlaid and brief snippets of voice over. As noted by Gematsu in its coverage, the movie appears to provide some context and background information about the goings on in the world of “Final Fantasy XV,” detailing themes and foreshadowing events to come.

IGN reports that the demo itself ends in spectacular fashion, with the quartet of Noctis, Gladio, Ignis and Prompto facing off against a massive Behemoth named “DeadEye.” The battle ends when the player summons Ramuh, who unleashes a deadly storm of lightning that slays the creature. A video of the Ramuh summon can be viewed on the Arekkz Gaming YouTube channel.

Gamer reception to the “Final Fantasy XV” demo has been generally positive, with Polygon reporting that some are paying up to $30 just to get their hands on it. While game director Hajime Tabata recently stated that the game’s development was nearing its end, it’s a little unclear exactly how long gamers will have to wait until “FFXV” sees wide release, as Square Enix has yet to announce a release date.

In related news, Square Enix President Yosuke Matsuda recently spoke with Nikkei, stating that the company has a surprise JRPG title lined up this year. Siliconera reports that while he refused to be drawn on specifics, Matsuda did confirm that the game is a console title.

“At the moment, we have major titles such as 'Dragon Quest Heroes' and 'Final Fantasy Type-0 HD' in 2015; I believe we will offer a vast number of high-end games in both the domestic market and overseas. Now that we’ve already announced 'Final Fantasy XV,' we will also reveal information on [another] JRPG; I believe we have a bit of a surprise in store for this year," Matsuda said.

Matsuda went on to state that the company will have plenty of games to show off at the Tokyo Game Show in September. He said that he expects 2015 to be a big box of surprises and that the company’s Western and Japanese studios would beef up their lineups substantially.
