First Trailer For 'Lego Jurassic World' Debuts
There seems to be no limits to the imagination with what the Lego games can do with a franchise. Whether it’s “Star Wars,” “Lord of the Rings” or “Batman,” it seems like the sky is the limit with developer Traveller’s Tales. Now, the Lego games are about to partake in one of the more ambitious movie franchises out there as the “Lego Jurassic World” trailer has been released.
Sharing the same name as the upcoming film starring “Guardians of the Galaxy” star Chris Pratt, “Lego Jurassic World” will recreate moments from all four “Jurassic Park” films using everyone’s favourite brick toy Lego. According to PC Gamer, players will be able to fully explore Jurassic Park as well as the settings of Isla Nublar and Isla Sorna.
Like some of the previous Lego games before it, “Lego Jurassic World” will feature recorded dialogue and music from the original films. Thus, fans nostalgic for the iconic roar of the Tyrannosaurus Rex or the distinct way Jeff Goldblum speaks should be happy.
The trailer also shows that just like in the previous Lego games, Traveller’s Tales will not be afraid to take liberties with certain iconic scenes of the franchise. The famous “clever girl” scene, for example, now involves bananas, and the meeting of the grandchildren of the first film now includes a comedic huge fall.
IGN was able to have some hands-on time with the game and revealed some new details that aren’t in the trailer. For starters, players will be able to ride on certain dinosaurs like the Triceratops from the first “Jurassic Park” film. Fans can also recreate moments from the film with different characters and different dinosaurs, so if anyone ever wanted to recreate the iconic T-Rex chase with a Stegosaurus, then that’s a definite possibility.
No gameplay was revealed for areas set in the actual “Jurassic World” film, though the game’s cover definitely confirms that the new film will be part of the game. “Lego Jurassic World” is set for a June release date. It’s not the only Lego game coming out this year, however, as “Lego Avengers” will also be coming out sometime this year, featuring Marvel’s brightest heroes.
