While the thought of Iris (Candice Patton) having a definite date of death has been torturing everyone’s favourite speedster, Barry Allen gets desperate to finds ways to keep this from happening. Meanwhile, someone new drops by and, while she may be a threat to Central City, Vibe appears excited over the new things he can learn.

Spoiler alert! This article contains “The Flash” spoilers. Read on if you would like to know what happens next before the next episode airs.

Previously, viewers witnessed how troubled Barry (Grant Gustin) was when the looming death of Iris in Savitar’s (Andre Tricoteux) hands kept torturing him. Soon enough, Barry fails to keep these thoughts to himself and reveals them to Iris.

The best part about the last episode was that while it relies on an overused plot point of threatening a hero’s love interest, it revealed an opportunity where Iris was developed as a character. This will be necessary, considering her importance in the episodes to come.

In the next episode, titled “Dead or Alive,” viewers will finally meet Gypsy (Jessica Camacho). She was actually seen in episode 10 where she jumped through a portal and landed in Central City. This character is a bounty hunter who keeps a picture of H.R. Wells and is possibly from his home planet, Earth-19.

In the official promo [watch below], it looks like Gypsy finally meets her match instantly -- and it happens to be no other than Cisco (Carlos Valdes). This new character might have some strange powers that would place the team against the wall, but Vibe has what it takes to stop her. Cisco asks Julian about his chances of defeating Gypsy, to which he responds that “It’s a pretty solid one.”

While Cisco’s training with Barry will make his sonic blasts stronger, Vibe will learn the most from observing Gypsy, who has a similar method of channelling her telepathic and extra-dimensional powers. These include the uncanny ability to open breaches. While she is a villain in herself, the skills that Cisco will pick up can ultimately be used by him against Savitar when the time comes.

“The Flash” airs every Tuesday at 8 p.m. on The CW in the US. It also airs 7:30 p.m. on FOX8 in Australia.
