Floyd Mayweather Jr. has yet to announce his next fight, possibly in 2015. And British Boxer Amir Khan is trying very hard to get the attention of the undefeated American considered the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world today.

Khan offered a few things why Mayweather Jr. should pick him in his next fight; first, that pay-per-view (PPV) says of the probable bout will not be a problem and that his style will make it an interesting fight and give the American fits.

“Floyd needs someone who gives him PPV. The people like my style. I have lots of fans in Great Britain,” Khan declared via wbcboxing.com, the official website of one of prominent boxing organisations in the world, the World Boxing Council (WBC).

“If I face Floyd I promise you that I would be a great fight. My speed and style could pose some real problems for Mayweather. I hope this fight happen.”

Khan is known as an aggressive slugger inside the ring. He has a record of 29-3-0 with 19 of his wins coming by way of knockout. Mayweather Jr. has perfected his craft and is best known as an effective counter-puncher with premium on defence first.

Khan, of course, is just one of the few worthy boxers Mayweather Jr. might consider for a fight in 2015, the probable final year in Mayweather Jr.’s illustrious boxing career that produced 47 wins against no losses.

Among other fighters who may end up in the squared ring with Mayweather Jr. are Manny Pacquiao of the Philippines and Canelo Alvarez of Mexico. Curiously, Pacquiao and Alvarez have the same style as Khan as all three are known for their attacking styles with emphasis on using their speed and power. However, both Pacquiao and Alvarez fight under HBO Sports while Mayweather Jr. is under the Showtime boxing umbrella.

A fight with Khan has been ditched by Mayweather Jr. in the past two years as the American chose the likes of Marcos Maidana, who Mayweather beat twice already, Alvarez and Robert Guerrero in his current deal with Showtime.

If Khan is getting a date with Mayweather Jr, 2015 should be the year as the American has announced that he’ll be retiring from the sport that year. Floyd also has two more fights left under his huge Showtime contract. Could one of those fights be against Amir Khan? Or will the British boxer be ignored by Mayweather Jr. once again?
