Floyd Mayweather Jr. Easier To Beat Than Manny Pacquiao Declares Amir Khan
Amir Khan is still continuing to try to goad Floyd Mayweather Jr. to fight him rather than Manny Pacquiao. In a recent interview, the popular British slugger stated that undefeated American is an easier to solve than the Filipino pugilist owing to their styles and different levels of aggressiveness on top of the ring.
“Mayweather because it’s going to be a game of chess,” Khan answered when asked which would be an easier fight between Mayweather or Pacquiao in an interview by Fight Hype via their official YouTube channel. "Pacquiao gets a little wild sometimes.”
In a few words, Khan described the respective styles of both fighters. Mayweather Jr. is a known defensive whiz on top of the ring choosing his spots and breaking down the opponent with his counterpunching abilities. Meanwhile, Pacquiao is known more as a slugger who will indulge the fighter across him in the middle of the ring and chase him all over the place. The respective records of Mayweather Jr. and Pacquiao speak for itself too; Mayweather Jr. has 47 victories in his career and 26 came by way of knockout or 55.31% KO rate while Pacquiao has 57 wins with 38 via KOs or 66.67% KO rate.
“King Khan”, who is from Bolton, Lancashire in the United Kingdom, went on to specifically state that speed can break Mayweather’s famed and patented “shoulder defence” and that he has the speed— and now the experience— to penetrate Mayweather’s defence.
“Speed is a key to break a lot of things and beat a lot of fighters,” Khan added in the same interview. Khan is coming off a convincing 12-round unanimous decision victory over American Devon Alexander, whom the Brit beat via scores of 119-109, 118-110 and 120-108 last Dec. 13.
Rumours of a Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Manny Pacquiao are hogging the boxing headlines of late. However, another fighter in Amir Khan is trying to steal those headlines in declaring that not only he wants the super fight against the undefeated American but that he also will win against Floyd Mayweather Jr.
