Could Mike Tyson’s “weakness for women” be the chink in his armour? According to Tyson’s former manager Rory Holloway, he would have been the greatest boxer in the history of the sport if he hadn’t let his vulnerable point and weak indulgencies on women take control of his life.

“The only reason he may not go down as the best is because of his weakness for women,” Holloway said in an article by The Mirror. “Every decision he made was around women and sex.”

Holloway, who was a lifelong friend of Tyson’s, opened up about the former undisputed heavyweight champion’s sex addiction in his new book, “Taming the Beast: The Untold Story of Mike Tyson,” and revealed how it has stopped Tyson from going down in history as the greatest boxer ever. Holloway further made known how Tyson's sex addiction had gotten worse that they had to make use of 24-hour security just to prevent Tyson from sneaking out to have sex.

Tyson’s rape conviction was almost certain to happen, Holloway lamented. He was having so much sex that even his time in jail didn’t stop him from continuing his addiction as female prison visitors lined up to see him. Holloway said he was taken aback why there weren’t a lot of girls who filed claims against Tyson.

In July 1991, Tyson was arrested for the rape of an 18-year-old beauty pageant titlist Desiree Washington. The rape incident reportedly took place in an Indianapolis hotel room. The following year, Tyson was formally charged with rape and was sentenced to six years jail time. He was detained at the Indiana Youth Center but was released after serving three years.

Tyson had already bared his story in a book that he wrote, titled “Undisputed Truth,” where he shared his promiscuous past. He would pick up women from any place. He was scared stiff that he might have had AIDS but still he went on to sleep and have unprotected sex with different women. He revealed that everything he did sexually was consisted of orgies. Tyson was not only a sex addict but also a drug and booze addict.

In Tyson’s quest to overcome his adversity, he began to seek help. Eventually, he escaped the shackles of his abusive past.
